Kitchen remodel for a young family who loves to cook
When a fun, young family reaches out to inquire about how to solve design flaws in the hum-drum interior of their newly purchased home in the heart of Gulf Breeze, you jump at the opportunity to solve the puzzle! This project involved a more robust schematic scope where we focused on the re-design of the entire home but phased the construction scope to the kitchen/living and back entry remodel first – a way for this client to capitalize on great planning and budgeting for their project’s execution and hone in on the priorities that would get them a much more effective kitchen and living space, first.
True Transformation
Comparing the initial layout and challenges to the finished product, this kitchen remodel and transformation involved re-addressing egress to give the clients the capacity to be host and hostess extraordinaire with better access to their music room, a fun banquette built into their island, a kitchen with style and fantastic coffee bar setup – and effective flow to the “back of house” pantry, powder and laundry just beyond the kitchen space.
Bold style
In addition to the amazing bonus functionality they gained – the style is a 10/10. The kitchen island offers radiused corners complemented by a textural tambour detail in dark slate. This grounds the center of this new design and provides the perfect foil for lighter and brighter touches around the perimeter of the space. The bronze detail on the hood surround, and saturated, matte finish teal backsplash give a little touch of mid-century style. And of course, the funky, oversized lighting acts as the perfect jewelry for the whole vignette.
