This beautiful, sleek kitchen was designed for a client who loves to cook!
In addition to desiring a gourmet kitchen, the client’s wish list included updating the space for an active family as well as fixing the mistakes from the previous remodel.
One of the first challenges was integrating the kitchen ceiling height (9 feet) with the rest of the house (8 feet).
This was accomplished by adding a large cased opening into the living room to join the two spaces and provide transition. Also, the doorway to the back hall was moved down to allow more casual dining space—perfect for a family on the go. The dated laundry room was converted into extra pantry and laundry space including double doors for easier access.
One of the most dynamic features of this kitchen is the large dark stained island.
The beefy legs of the custom designed island anchor the strong, sleek look and feel of the space. A custom pullout pantry was installed adjacent to the stove for efficient use of everyday storage. The microwave was combined with the secondary oven to double up on space. The beautiful hand scraped wood floors add richness to this family friendly gourmet kitchen.
