Fall High Point Market Trends
As interior designers, we’re always on the lookout for inspiring trends that will breathe new life into our clients’ spaces, and this year’s Fall High Point Market gave us a stunning preview of what 2025 interior design trends we’ll be seeing in the coming year. With a rich blend of warmth, texture, and nostalgic charm, these trends promise to create cozy, personality-filled interiors that feel fresh yet timeless. Here’s a look at some of the standout design directions we’re most excited about!
Our Top 5:
1. Warm Earthy Tones Make a Comeback—Especially Brown
After years of cool greys dominating the design scene, warm earthy tones are making a strong resurgence. We’re particularly seeing brown take center stage, from chocolatey hues to soft terracotta and rich caramel. Brown is the perfect grounding color, adding a sense of warmth and sophistication that complements various design styles. It is incredibly versatile and pairs beautifully with a variety of textures, including wood, leather, and natural fabrics. Expect to see these tones woven through furniture, wall colors, and accessories, bringing a cozy, grounded feel to interiors in 2025.

This swivel dining chair was truly a hidden gem! Featuring a soft polyester fabric in a warm camel hue, this chair showcases a distinctive silhouette with a gently curved backrest and a sleek, pedestal-style base. The swivel seat is complemented by a tufted cushion, offering both comfort and functionality.
This “Anything but Basic” ensemble seamlessly blends modern design with casual comfort, creating a look that is both timeless and effortlessly stylish. We love a layered bedding look and this collection was perfectly on trend!
For an updated take on an antique-inspired look, a six-leg accent bench features soft, semi-attached cushion seating in a chenille-like velvet, for comfort with track-resistant livability. A toasted ash base includes metal casters finished in an aged brass. We love that it can be easily moved – great for entertaining – and the color is gorgeous!
2. Retro Shapes and Textures: Curved Furniture with Velvets, Rattan, and Wood
Retro influences are back in a big way, with furniture showcasing softer, curved silhouettes that add both comfort and visual interest. Curved furniture and soft edges, inspired by mid-century and ’70s designs, are gaining popularity for their inviting, organic forms. Sofas, armchairs, and even cabinetry are adopting these curvilinear shapes, which soften the look of a room and can make spaces feel more approachable. Velvet upholstery remains popular, bringing in a touch of luxury and texture that’s hard to resist. It’s perfect for creating a layered look that feels both opulent and cozy. We love velvet in jewel tones or earthy shades because it can instantly elevate a room while offering softness and comfort.
Rattan and natural wood elements are also key, adding a laid-back, organic feel that balances the richness of velvet. The lightweight and airy qualities of rattan make it ideal for accent chairs, light fixtures, and side tables, especially in smaller spaces or those with a coastal or boho vibe. Meanwhile, wood—whether dark and polished or raw and natural—grounds the room and enhances that warm, earthy feel that’s trending for 2025. The mix of these textures adds a layered, nostalgic vibe that feels both vintage-inspired and contemporary, perfect for creating inviting spaces with character.

Crafted from mindi and bayor wood in a rich medium brown finish, this sideboard encompasses warmth and elegance. Its rounded edges soften the overall silhouette, while two sets of butterfly doors reveal spacious interior shelving.
How darling are these scalloped tables! We got a coffee table for the shop and Libby got the side table for sweet Elodie’s nursery. This coastal design features scalloped edges and handwoven, sustainable rattan, creating a wave-like illusion with flared wicker curves that resemble billowing fabric. The collection adds captivating interest to any space, with matching side tables available in natural, white, and blue finishes for a tropical touch.
Two words: performance velvets. We saw a new collection of luxurious performance textures. Featured here, is a new luminous velvet. Available in 24 classic yet trend-forward colors, it is engineered with Ease Eco Performance, which gives this pattern enhanced liquid resistance, stain resistance, and cleanability. Love!
3. Coastal-Inspired Lighting with Shells, Natural Materials, and Oceanic Tones
Lighting is going coastal in 2025, but with a twist that’s more refined than beach-themed. We noticed lighting designs of chandeliers, pendants, and sconces all featuring delicate capiz shells, woven seagrass, and other natural materials, which evoked a subtle seaside charm. Coastal-inspired lighting is no longer reserved just for beach houses; it’s making its way into a range of interiors, lending a relaxed, breezy feel that’s both stylish and calming.
In terms of color, these lighting pieces often feature soft coastal hues—think sandy beiges, oceanic blues, and seafoam greens. These tones create a subtle pop of color without overwhelming the space, making them ideal for those who want to bring a bit of the coast indoors without committing to a full beachy aesthetic.
Examples we saw and LOVED:
Inspired by a mobile, this retro chandelier silhouette has been softened by earthy metal finishes and rounded forms. 4 or 6 dome shades are finished in Limewash Plaster, while the slender framework is finished in Vintage Gold Leaf. The entire fixture is supported by jewelry-like decorative chains hanging from a classic canopy.
This flush mount light is an embodiment of laid-back luxe and thoughtful simplicity. By marrying the natural textures of natural rattan with a white lanyard, the fixture introduces a striking two-tone color palette and soft gold finish.
This multi-drop pendant has shades made of white ceramic crafted to resemble tassels with a coral-like texture. The sense of movement created by the material is an artisanal touch that brings the shades a lovely graceful quality. The thin silver cables from which they hang leave the shades themselves to be the star of the design.
4. The Return of Block-Printed Fabrics
Block-printed fabrics were everywhere at the Fall Market, highlighting a return to artisanal, handmade aesthetics. This traditional textile technique, known for its hand-stamped look, adds a sense of craftsmanship and heritage to any space. Block-printed patterns are typically inspired by nature, featuring florals, leaves, and intricate geometric designs that have a timeless quality. We saw block-printed fabrics used for everything from throw pillows to upholstered furniture to wallpaper. Their organic patterns pair well with neutral color palettes and other natural materials, making them versatile enough to fit within a range of styles, from rustic and farmhouse to coastal and bohemian. They are perfect for layering textures and patterns, giving spaces depth and warmth.
Examples we saw and LOVED:
We adored this slip-covered dining bench, as well as all the pillows and wallcoverings we saw with the block printing fabrics. Block printing, one of the oldest techniques in textile design, has weathered centuries of changing tastes and technologies. Its longevity is a testament to its versatility and appeal.
The process, deceptively simple yet infinitely nuanced, involves pressing carved wooden blocks onto fabric to create intricate patterns. One of the companies we looked at even had a workshop where you could create your own block-printed bandana!
5. Moody Granny Florals: The New Twist on Floral Patterns
One of the more unexpected trends we saw was the revival of “granny florals,” but with a twist. Think large, dramatic blooms in deep, saturated colors like indigo, forest green, and maroon, often set against dark backgrounds. These florals are moodier and richer with vintage-inspired colors. Rather than feeling overly traditional, they bring a touch of romance and drama to spaces, especially when used in wallpaper or accent upholstery. Granny florals pair beautifully with modern and vintage-inspired pieces alike, creating an intriguing blend of old and new that feels fresh and sophisticated.
Examples we saw and LOVED:
We were, of course, loving all the moody fabrics and upholstered furniture in these florals. It was such a fresh and fun take on otherwise traditional pieces! We ordered two ottomans in a gorgeous blue and green toned floral with fabulous trim and we cannot wait for them to arrive at the shop.
