Masculine Materials make this bath!

Here is one of the baths we finished not long ago. Defiinitely designed for a guy! The round window was not in “exactly” the right spot but was not a big problem to handle….tough going when the house is constructed of ICF. Not much movement allowed!

Rich details in this traditional masculine bath

The walnut wood veneer is used on the “had to be there” soffit to integrate seamlessly with the vanity and window wall. The slate floor and shower was a budget alternative and was highlighted with glass mosaic tile mixing blues and greens together to further the sea inspired color way.

slate and the rougher glass work well for a rugged look

The piece d’ resistance is the spectacular granite countertops. The luminosity of this stone makes it appear you are looking at it under the sea..which perfectly complemented the boyish charm of this space!

Can you not see the fishes swimming beneath the surface??

Not a large bath but certainly not typical either! What do YOU think?

  2. For me, that circle of wood (mirror? porthole? I’m guessing porthole given the decor) really is a lovely detail — truly anchors the soffit to the base. (Sorry, couldn’t resist the pun. :P)
