The inevitable write ups on the Highpoint Furniture market from a few weeks ago are hitting blogs everywhere. Not to be oudone, I have my own “bests” I will share with you. I am not always on “trend” like some designers as I prefer to mix and match trends and classic pieces to achieve the overall aesthetic desired. But I think you will find all of these choices to be in the “classically modern” genre. Well, there may be a wild card or two….which is your favorite?

ok so is old wood look...yes BUT in a thoroughly modern design. I love it. And, you could not hurt it!

I am lusting after this one. From Raymond Waites. Note how large most of these are!

We bought this one. Blue slate on a cerrused frame. LOVE the simplicity of style. Again, very large.

Classic and versatile. From Michael Weiss collection at Vanguard

Shagreen everywhere. Is gorgeous material and versatile also. This is from Lillian August.

B L I N G !! From Bernhardt Interiors. I am not sure I could handle the fingerprints though...love the legs.

In LOVE with this table. Note size! The wood is subtle and the metal strapping well done! From Lillian August for HIckory White

Simple but works for many transitional looks if you have some traditonal pieces surrounding it. I like the easy clean of glass.

We bought this one too. Is metal on top and wood legs. Simple simple simple. And, very affordable!

Nothing new using a cocktail ottoman but really like the idea of a fresh hot color. I think a slip covered ottoman used this way is a great idea for small spaces too...multitasking!

In a few days, will post about favorite side tables, great lighting we saw, and some new lines we will be carrying at the shop!

We welcome comments unless you are a bot trying to invade my blog with your bad grammar!

  1. My favorite of these is the first one, the wonderful round wood coffee table. I personally believe a home should be lived in, so I favor a coffee table that permits one to put one’s feet up. Actually, my two absolute favorite coffee tables are the two I made for our home! The second of these is in the family room and features a lift-up top, so we can eat in comfort while watching the big screen TV. Not very sophisticated, but hey, we like it!
